6 dead, 7 injured due to lightning, rain in Bihar

Six persons have died and seven injured due to lightning and rains in different incidents in Bhagalpur district, police said today.
Four persons died and four others were wounded in areas under Pirpainty police station of the district last night, they said.
Giving details of the incidents, police said one Basant Mandal died after being struck by lightning in Parsabanna village. The victim was a truck driver.
Madhuban diara resident Kumar Guatam was on his way to Pirpainty bazar when he was struck by lightning and died, police said.
A 70-year old woman in Malikpur village and a man from Parsabanna village, died in rain related incidents.

A woman hailing from Simana Chaitya village lost her life also after being stuck by lightning in the courtyard of her home last night, police said.
Another person died in Akbarnagar police station of the district last night, they added.
All the bodies have been sent for post mortem, they said.
