Six people died in rain-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh since Thursday night, taking the toll in different parts of the state since September 1 to 82, officials said on Friday.
The heavy showers claimed the lives of two people in Mirzapur while Lucknow, Ghazipur, Kannauj and Sultanpur reported one death each , officials said.
Met office said southwest monsoon was normal over the state and light to moderate rain/ thundershowers were likely at a few places.
Heavy rain occurred at isolated places over eastern parts of the state, they added.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath undertook an aerial survey of the flood-hit areas of Kanpur, Unnao and Farrukhabad districts and also distributed relief material to the affected people, officials said.
