SFI leaders filed a police complaint alleging that ABVP activist supported by outsiders attacked former Student Central Association secretary Hoshiyar Singh and vice-president Gopal Singh around 8.30 AM and a clash ensued in which six SFI activists were injured.
Additional Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said that both ABVP and SFI have lodged counter FIRs against the rival groups.
Police registered an FIR against the ABVP activists under 307 of IPC (attempt to murder) on the complaint filed by SFI and nabbed nine students.
Two critically injured SFI activists had been admitted to IGMC Hospital here.
