"The incident took place this evening near the upcoming steel plant in Nagarnar, 17 km from Jagdalpur district headquarters," Bastar Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Pandey told PTI.
A portion of 'centering' (framing) erected on iron rods for laying a slab for the railway overbridge fell on the labourers, he said.
The victims, working for a private construction company, were rushed to the Maharani Hospital in Jagdalpur and their condition was reported to be out of danger, the ASP said.
State-owned National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) is in the process of setting up a steel plant in Nagarnar. The work for laying a broad guage railway track at a railway siding meant for the plant is underway.
