8 new born babies die in 24 hours

Eight new born babies died at the Deben Mahato Sadar Hospital in West Bengal's Purulia district in the last 24 hours.
Hospital superintendent Nilanjana Sen said the babies were either one or two-days old.
While five of them were underweight, two were suffering from respiratory problems and one died due to choking during breast feeding, Sen said.
Parents of the deceased babies were very poor, she said.
