9-year-old US girl enters Mensa

A nine-year-old school girl in the US has entered the genius club Mensa after getting a high score of 140 on a cognitive test.
Jacqueline "JJ" Durbin, a student at Pirrung Elementary School in Mesquite, US, recently received a letter informing her that the test she took when she was 7 years old met the requirements to join the high IQ group.
"To her it's no big deal but her dad and I think it's pretty cool," said JJ's mother, Dawnda Durbin.
JJ said her favourite subject is math, which she finds simple, 'Mesquite News' reported.
Dawnda decided to initiate the process to see if her daughter was eligible to be part of Mensa after observing JJ solving puzzles with her siblings.

"She was doing a Mensa Enigmas puzzle with my 24-year-old and my 21-year-old and she had just skipped out of third grade so I got on the Mensa website and happened to see their admission requirements," Dawnda said.
Dawnda realised JJ's test scores were already on file from when she took the CogAT test in first grade, the report said.
"When I saw what scores were acceptable, and I went to the school and they pulled that stuff, the minimum was 132 and hers was 140, so I had the school submit them," Dawnda said.
