The driver of the lorry, transporting coffee powder from Virudhunagar to Vijayawada, who parked the vehicle for a check at Pallapatti last night found the tarpaulin cover of the lorry torn out.
On further check, he found the boxes containing coffee powder had been stolen, they said.
In his complaint, the driver suspected the involvement of a gang by climbing the lorry when it slowed down near a check post or speed breaker and stealing the boxes.
