Minister of State for HRD Mahendra Nath Pandey, in written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha, said there are 1,464 vacancies for SCs, STs and OBCs in these universities as on March 31.
In reply to another question, Pandey said there has been no change in the reservation policy for SCs, STs and OBCs in appointment in central universities and the UGC has clarified this in a letter, dated June 7, 2016.
