The 28 year old chef embarked from here on a 20,000 km food journey covering 25 states in August of the year 2012 , an adventure that culminated in the same year in November.
This food journey was for his TV show "Roti, Rasta aur India" on FoodFood Channel. Golia's book "India on my Platter" describes his journey that not only describes his food adventure but is also sprinkled with unique recipes from different places in the country.
"As I documented the diversity of Indian food and its regional cuisine, I had noticed that it changed every 200 kms. There is so much the world doesn't know about India and its food, the whole idea of writing this book was a daunting thought. I now urge people to choose Varanasi before Venice, or Gujarat before Geneva, the next time they plan their holidays!" he says.
