Muzaffarnagar Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) H N Singh told reporters here that a case of murder has been registered after the SHO's wife, Prabha Rani, filed a complaint.
Prabha Rani alleged that her husband was poisoned to death by Pershant and his sister Jyoti Mishra of Gorakhpur. She claimed that the duo had borrowed some money from her husband and refused to pay back.
Earlier, it was understood by the police that Singh has died of heart attack. Police are looking into the case and no arrest has been made so far, the SSP said.
