Directed by debutant filmmaker Ashwini Iyer Tiwari, the film talks about a single mother who enrolls in the same school as her daughter to improve her academic performance.

Also starring Ratna Pathak Shah and Pankaj Tripathi in prominent roles, the film is produced by Aanand L Rai and Ajay Rai.
"Nil Battey Sannata" is expected to release on April 22 along with its Tamil remake "Amma Kanakku".
