Himachal unit of Aam Adami Party today opposed the hike in power tariff of domestic consumers and demanded immediate withdrawal of all the hikes.
"The government is misleading and betraying the people by increasing the power charges through back door and putting unnecessary financial burden on consumers," AAP convernor Rajan Sushant said.
He also accused the government of fooling and misleading the people of merged areas of Shimla Municipal Corporation by announcing the new Retention Policy for regularisation of unauthorized houses and said AAP would support any agitation launched by people against power tariff hike and retention policy.
The AAP convenor also announced that workers conferences would be held in all four Parliamentary constituencies of the state in June.
He said that the people of merged area of Shimla were not covered under the Town and Country Act but after merger of these areas, the government was charging compounding for regularisation of illegal constructions and deviation which is unjustified, he added.
