"Our state is not a disputed territory, but an integral part of India. We strongly oppose the remark made by Beijing," AAPSU President Kamta Lapung said here.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hu Chunying had recently said that there is a "huge dispute" with India over Arunachal Pradesh and it is an "undeniable fact".
Lapung said that the statement carried no meaning as Arunachal was not a disputed territory.
"On many occasions we have been protesting such attitude of China and we have nothing to do with Chinese authorities," Lapung added.
"Stapled visas are issued to the Arunachalees because of weakness of the Centre," Sonam said.
Referring to the imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers' Act (AFSPA) in 12 districts of the state, the students' body said it would resort to a series of agitation till the draconian Act was withdrawn.
"AFSPA is nothing but a license to kill innocent people in a peaceful state like Arunachal where not a single insurgent group exists," Lapung said, adding, if the Centre felt that insurgents from neighbouring states had sneaked into the state's territory, it could launch massive army operation instead of imposing AFSPA.
AAPSU General Secretary Biru Nasi said that the union was also opposing tooth and nail the Arunachal Pradesh Unlawful Activities Act (APUAA) along with the AFSPA.
"When the state government is opposing imposition of AFSPA, why it had enacted the APUAA which is similar to AFSPA in nature," he said, adding, that the Act would curtail the democratic rights of the people.
