The masterworks of such legendary filmmakers as Ingmar Bergman, Charlie Chaplin, Sergei Eisenstein, Federico Fellini, Werner Herzog, Akira Kurosawa and Alain Resnais figure in the list. The classics have been subtitled in Malayalam.
The list was posted on the KSCA's official Facebook page.
The films include-- "Battleship Potemkin" by Eisenstein, "Wild Strawberries" by Bergman, "Hiroshima Mon Amour" by Resnais and "Seven Samurai" by Kurosawa.
The KSCA's initiative - which is part of a wider effort to stimulate appetite for world film ahead of the 20th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK)- has proved popular with cine buffs flocking to the social network in the dozens to vote for their choice.
KSCA chairman T Rajivnath, while addressing a gathering at the first such public viewing (of Vittorio de Sica's Bicycle Thieves), last week had said the screening of these classics aimed at broadening better public appreciation of timeless cinema.
