An accused in a fake job racket case has reportedly told police that he is part of a 20 member nationwide network which created company websites and issued 'appointment orders' of reputed IT companies like IBM and Infosys to candidates on payment.
Rasul Rai, who was arrested recently from Chennai, told police during investigation that the network created websites and issued appointment orders of major IT companies like IBM and Infosys after collecting amounts ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs one lakh from candidates.
He was arrested following a complaint from IBM that several persons had approached them with a so-called appointment order, which were turned out to be fake.
Rai was brought here for questioning in connection with a complaint from an engineering college and later taken back to Chennai, they said.
