Model-turned-actress Poonam Pandey who made her debut in the Bollywood movie 'Nasha', said here today that she achieved whatever she wanted through earlier controversies.
"At one point, I preferred controversy. After getting so much of work, I don't need to do anything controversial now. I achieved whatever I wanted through controversies," she said at a press conference here today, to announce her Telugu debut in an action thriller called 'Malini & Company'.
The movie, which is a mix of fantasy and romance, with terrorism as the backdrop, has Poonam donning the lead role, movie director Veeru K said.
"It's a performance-oriented role. Mine is a special character. You may see me in bikini, but I am doing much more. I had many offers but this is really different. It has action, emotion and more," Poonam said.
The film has been produced by Mahesh Rathi under the banner of Manisha Films.
"Malini & Company, is a heroine-oriented film. We have just completed songs at locations in Bangkok and the film will be released by next month end. This film shows the power of women. What a woman is capable of doing is portrayed in this movie," Veeru said.
Viewers would see a "different" performance in this film as "experienced people" behind this film have ensured a better performance and made it a "different" package, Poonam said.
