The AMTL is being set up by the department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences of Rajasthan University (RU) at a cost of Rs eight crore got from the state government, (RU) Vice-Chancellor Prof A K Gahlot told a press conference here.
Drug residues, pesticides and insecticides present in synthetic milk and its products would be tested through a statewide survey and public awareness would be created about the side effects of such dairy products, he said.
A two-day national workshop on Veterinary Education for Human Resource Needs in animal husbandry sector would begin from tomorrow to discuss these kinds of research-oriented subjects, Gahlot said.
Over 100 experts of academic institutions and industries particularly dairy, poultry, pharmaceutical, cattle feed and food processing would take part in the workshop, he said.
