Advani, Kothari win in National Billiards & Snooker C'ship
Press Trust of India Kolkata All the seeded players including defending champion Sourav Kothari and ace cueist Pankaj Advani had easy outings on the opening day of the senior billiards at the National Billiards & Snooker Championship here today.
Advani, a 12-time world champion, who is the defending champion in national snooker, registered 3-0 win against Subodh Lahiri of Uttar Pradesh. He scored the day's highest break of 104 points in third game to seal the win.
The local favourite, Kothari outclassed S Shankar Rao of Andhra Pradesh in an identical 3-0 margin.
Another PSPB player Alok Kumar also had no difficulty beating Rakesh Pradhan of Odisha 3-0.
Kolkata-based Brijesh Damani of PSPB played two matches today and both he won convincingly.
In the first match, he beat Jharkhand's Anseth Pareira 3-0, scoring two breaks of 75 and 68 in first two games.
Later in the day, he beat D Rajkumar of Karnataka 3-0.
