Afghan envoy calls on Governor Solanki

Afghanistan envoy to India today met Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and evinced keen interest in trade potential between the two countries.
Afghanistan Ambassador to India, Shaida Mohammad Abdali called on Solanki, Governor of Haryana, Punjab and Administrator of UT of Chandigarh, at Raj Bhavan and discussed the two countries' bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages, an official spokesman said.
Abdali briefed Solanki on the current economic cooperation between Afghanistan and India and the potential for increased trade between the two countries.
Solanki said India enjoys mature bilateral relations and strong socio-cultural linkages with Afghanistan.
He said Punjab has achieved major breakthrough in agriculture sector and allied fields and is emerging as a progressive and vibrant investment destination.
The state government has evolved a responsive mechanism and conducts agri-related activities in close coordination with the scientific community at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, he said.
Solanki said India's economic capability is growing at a faster pace and has enormous dynamism and potential.
He said there was huge scope to further expand economic and business cooperation in wide range of fields like IT, marketing of agriculture produce, sharing of educational tools and technologies.
They can be of immense benefit to people on both sides, he said.
