A land dispute matter, possibly among oldest of the cases pending in the country, came to an end after 44 years, with a mobile Lok Adalat disposing it today through negotiation.
The case, disposed of by the Lok Adalat held at Paddar, the remotest Tehsil of Kishtwar district, was filed in 1969 and it witnessed death of two generation of litigants.
Presently, the third generation of litigants were contesting the case that was between Nand Lal and Tara Devi.
The Lok Adalat, held in the premises of Higher Secondary School Paddar, was presided over by Chief Judicial Magistrate (Kishtwar) Ajay Kumar Gupta.
