Patel, who is a Rajya Sabha member from Gujarat, visited Dumkhal yesterday.
The villages of Dumkhal, Chopadi, Kanji, Kokam, Piplod, Singal Gabhan and Vandri, which come under Dumkhal panchayat, located in Dediapada tehsil of Narmada district, have a population of more than 8,500, most of them tribal.
"Under the SAGY, government has not allotted any special funds to me....People who have designed this scheme have adopted much more developed villages," Patel said.
"The Vasava and Bhils (tribal communities from the region) are very close to me and with your cooperation we can improve conditions here," he said, noting that despite the poverty, law and order situation in the area was good.
