Opposition AIADMK today urged Lt Governor Kiran Bedi to recommend to the President dismissal of the Congress government here, in the wake of charges that contents of the budget had already been highlighted in the media and the official website ahead of its presentation today.
AIADMK legislature wing leader A Anbalagan told reporters here that the party presented a memorandum to Bedi, urging her to recommend to the President the dismissal of the government for "violation of oath of secrecy" by Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy.
Anbalagan said newspapers today had details of department wise allocation of funds for the 2016-17 fiscal, which was available in the government website before its presentation.
"When the media had carried the details, where is the propriety for Chief Minister to present the budget?" he asked, adding tradition and convention of the Assembly had been violated.
"It is a serious issue", he alleged.

Meanwhile, CPI's Puducherry unit secretary R.Rajangam claimed in a release that the budget was silent in augmenting financial resources.
He said the stand of the chief minister that only after mobilising resources would the government be in a position to implement the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission "is a clear case of disappointment the government has inflicted on the employees."
He claimed that no job scheme has been highlighted.
"Cooperative sugar mill is in deep crisis and government should have evolved steps to salvage the mill. Nothing has been done and the budget is on the whole a sheer failure for all sections," Rajangam said.
