AIIMS Patna to give free surgery service to leprosy patients

All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS), Patna, today announced it would perform surgery of leprosy patients free of cost from July 15.
Head of Department of Plastic Surgery Veena Kumari said the institution has decided to perform surgery of leprosy patients without any fee from World Plastic Surgery Day on July 15.
First such surgery would be done by her and Director AIIMS J K Singh, according to a release from AIIMS Patna.
Two patients have been identified for the inaugural surgery of their leprosy affecetd hands and legs.
She said the items needed for surgery would also be provided free of cost by the AIIMS.
A conference would be organised at AIIMS Patna on World Plastic Surgery Day on July 15, the statement added.
