AITF to urge govt to revamp art and culture dept

Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Tribes' Forum (AITF) has resolved to urge the state government to revamp the department of Art and Culture involving local tribal cultural experts from all the ethnic tribes of the state.
The forum in its executive body meeting held yesterday at the proposed site of Nyishi Heritage village - Supu Namchee near Hoj which, was presided over by its chairman Bengia Tolum also resolved that steps would be taken by other communities for establishment of Community Heritage villages of their respective tribes which shall be of immense importance for the research scholars of the tribal arts and culture besides being a tourist hub, a press release said here today.
"It will be the endeavour of the AITF to establish-Arunachal Heritage village representing all the ethnic tribes of the state which will serve as the vehicle of Pan Arunachal Agenda," the meeting resolved.
Similarly, Joint Action Committee on Boundary Affairs (JACBA) under the umbrella of the AITF would take-up with the government for re-vitalizing the department of Boarder Affairs on the line of earlier resolutions.
It was also decided that coinciding its 6th Foundation Day, the next General Conference of AITF would be conducted at Itanagar by pooling resources from all community based organisations (CBOs).
