Aiyappa devotee dies on seventh hills in Vellangiri

: An Aiyappa devotee from Chennai passed away at the top of Vellangiri hills, some 40 km from here after developing breathing problems, police said.
Ravichandran (55), part of a group of devotees from Chennai who had visited some temples, had climbed atop the Seventh Hill of Vellangiri last evening, where it was bittery cold, police said.
He suddenly developed breathing problems and swooned.
On information from other devotees some forests and temple officials rushed to the spot, but could not recover the body due to darkness, they said.
Anti Poaching Squad and forest officials are taking efforts to bring down the body, even as his relatives would be arriving here reaching here from Chennai, police said.
