Ajay Kumar Singhal appointed Commissioner of Railway Safety

Railways service officer Ajay Kumar Singhal was today appointed Commissioner of Railway Safety, a crucial post responsible for investigating train accidents among other inspection-related works.
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) has approved appointment of Singhal, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Engineers, to the post of Commissioner of Railway Safety, an order issued by Department of Personnel and Training said.
The Commission of Railway Safety is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The ACC has also approved appointment of Sanjay Bahl as Director General, Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (ICERT) under Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, which acts as nodal agency to check cyber threat.

Bahl has been appointed to the post for five years, it said.
