The arrest of top Indian Mujahideen terrorist Tehseen Akhtar was a "huge success" for the country's war against terror, Minister of State for Home R P N Singh said today.

"Tehseen is one of the most wanted terrorists in India. It is a huge success in India's war against terror. The Delhi Police arrested him along the Indo-Nepal border," Singh told PTI.

The Minister said Akhtar's interrogation has begun and only after his questioning the details of the IM's network, their plan and his involvement in various terror strikes would be known.

"The terrorists' arrest shows that the UPA government's fight against terror is yielding positive results," he said.

Tehseen, who was blamed for a number of terror attacks, has been arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police.

His arrest came days after Delhi Police nabbed another top IM operative Zia Ur Rehman alias Waqas from Ajmer in Rajasthan along with three of his associates.

Akhtar was heading the banned outfit after the arrest of its co-founder Ahmad Siddhibappa Zarar alias Yasin Bhatkal along the Indo-Nepal border last year.

With the arrest of Tehseen, almost the entire top leadership of IM has been nabbed by the police.
