The arrested Lahore chapter Al-Qaeda militant, Zaheer Hasan, was wanted in different terrorism cases in the Punjab province since 2010, police said.
Zaheer, who is also accused of providing funds to the members of the banned Tahreek-i-Taliban Pakistan operating in Punjab, had fled to North Waziristan after committing terror acts.
On an information by intelligence agencies that Hasan had recently returned to Lahore, security forces yesterday raided a house in the Canal View Housing Society and arrested him.
On the interrogation of Hasan, another suspected militant, Ismail, was arrested in the city.
