A top Al-Qaeda terrorist has been arrested by Pakistani security agencies during a raid on a house in a posh locality of this eastern city.
The arrested Lahore chapter Al-Qaeda militant, Zaheer Hasan, was wanted in different terrorism cases in the Punjab province since 2010, police said.
Zaheer, who is also accused of providing funds to the members of the banned Tahreek-i-Taliban Pakistan operating in Punjab, had fled to North Waziristan after committing terror acts.
On an information by intelligence agencies that Hasan had recently returned to Lahore, security forces yesterday raided a house in the Canal View Housing Society and arrested him.
A huge amount of local and foreign currency, hate literature and weapons were recovered from him.
