Aluminium up 0.2% on global cues

Metal for delivery in July also rose by a similar margin

Aluminium prices went up 0.23 per cent to Rs 110.35 per kg in futures trade today as participants strengthened their positions, supported by an upward trend overseas.

Furthermore, strong demand in the spot market influenced metal prices.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in June inched up 25 paise, or 0.23 per cent, to Rs 110.35 per kg in business turnover of 135 lots.

Metal for delivery in July also rose by a similar margin to trade at Rs 110.40 per kg in 79 lots.

Marketmen said that apart from increased domestic demand, a firming global trend in copper and other base metals as factory activity in China, the world's biggest consumer, expanded for the third month, which mainly influenced metal prices in futures trade here.
