Amanda Seyfried says she was mocked over her "pale and ugly" appearance in school days.
The 32-year-old actor, who began her career as a model, said she later on forayed into showbiz as she was attracted to the glamour.
"(I modelled) just because it was glamorous and because people let me.
"I was made fun of at school for being pale and ugly," Seyfried told i newspaper.
The "Dear John" actor has previously spoken of her struggles with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and panic attacks.
She had said she thinks she is growing "darker" with age.
