The company started taking orders from today and shipping would start from February 4, Amazon said in a statement.
According to the company, the new Kindle Paperwhite has features such as a new display technology with higher contrast, built-in light, faster processor and is priced at Rs 10,999 while the Wi-Fi + 3G model would cost Rs 13,999.
Commenting on the development, Amazon India Vice President and Country Manager Amit Agarwal said: "We are excited to make Kindle Paperwhite available to our customers in India".
The device would also be available offline across 250 retail outlets such as Croma, Reliance Digital and E-Zone UniverCel.
