What transpired at the meeting in Mahal could not be known immediately, though the meeting assumes significance due to the forthcoming Maharashtra assembly polls during winter this year.
The meeting lasted for about 90 minutes and was attended by Shah, Maharashtra BJP president Devendra Fadnavis and party general secretary Ravindra Bhusari, BJP sources said.
Earlier, Amit Shah visited the RSS Smruti Mandir at Reshimbagh, where he was received by its city chief Dilip Gupta and top RSS functionary Ravindra Joshi.
He was received by Devendra Fadnavis, Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra State Legislative Council, Vinod Tawade, Ajay Sancheti, Banwarilal Purohit, local legislators and party functionaries.
He also had a luncheon meeting with Tawde, Pankaja Munde and others at the Dharampeth residence of Fadnavis.
Shah had already held a first round meeting with core committee members of the Maharashtra BJP unit in Delhi early this week and this is the second round of talks in the presence of RSS leaders.
