Later, BJP General Secretary and in-charge of its
Maharashtra unit, Saroj Pandey congratulated the people of the state, all party workers and office bearers for the massive victory in the first phase of municipal council polls.
Pandey attributed the victory to the successful implementation of various policies and programmes formulated under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government at the Centre, state Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis as well as BJP President Amit Shah.
"The people of Maharashtra were feeling neglected and cheated due to the anti-poor and anti-development policies of the Congress-NCP combine in the state. This victory has shown these two parties their real image," she said in a statement.
