BJP president Amit Shah today discussed with core members of Chhattisgarh BJP the possible strategy to be adopted by the party for winning the assembly elections, slated to be held later this year.
"Shah met the core group of the party this evening at the BJP's Surguja district office to lay the roadmap for the election campaign in the state where the ruling BJP has set a target to win 65 out of total 90 assembly seats," a BJP media cell membersaid.
The meetingassumes significance for the ruling BJP which has been in power for the last 15 years in the state and seemed to be battling anti-incumbency.
Chief Minister Raman Singh, BJP national general secretary and Chhattigarh in-charge Anil Jain, BJP national joint general secretary Saudan Singh, state party unit president Dharamlal Kaushik, Rajya Sabha MPs Saroj Pandey and Ramvichar Netam, Food and Civil Supply Minister Punnulal Mohile, Agriculture and Water Resources Minister Brijmohan Agrawal were among those who attended the meeting which lasted for around two-and-a half hours.
According to the media cell member, extensive discussions seem to have been held between the state leaders and Shah.
Earlier today, Shah held a road show in Ambikapur before addressing a public meeting at PG College grounds as a part of Chief Minister Raman Singh's 'Vikas Yatra' campaign to highlight the achievements of last 15 years of his government.
Shah will leave for Delhi tomorrow morning from Ambikapur.
