Ammunition found dumped in well behind Gadchiroli police HQ

A huge cache of ammunition was found in a well near the police headquarters here today, police said.
The district has a considerable Naxal presence.
Owner of the farm behind the headquarters, where the well is located, this morning spotted some cartridges in a crack on the inside wall of the well and informed the police.
After pumping out water, police found 513 live rounds of guns such as 7.62 mm SLR, AKM, INSAS, 303 rifle, 78 empty cases, a walkie-talkie battery, an SLR magazine, a bomb case, a detonator box, live grenades and some explosive material.
