Andhra woman rescued from redlight area

The rescue took place after the mother of the woman yesterday approached police saying that her daughter is confined in a building in the redlight area.

A raid was conducted and the woman was rescued, Additional Commissioner of Police (Central) Devesh Chandra Srivastava said.

"The victim belongs to a poor family. She was lured with better job prospects in Delhi and was brought here by a woman of her village. Later, she was sold in redlight area," he said.
