Angul Aluminium Park a potential area for cooperation for Russian investment: Nalco

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) today said it has pitched for Angul Aluminium Park as a potential area for collaboration with Russia for technology and investment.

Angul Aluminium Park is a joint venture promoted by NALCO and IDCO (Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation).

It was discussed in the seventh session of India-Russia Sub-Group on Mining under the India-Russia Working Group on Modernization and Industrial Cooperation.

The meeting was held here to identify areas of cooperation and collaboration.

"T K Chand, CMD, NALCO pitched for Angul Aluminium Park, a joint venture promoted by NALCO and IDCO, as a potential area for cooperation for Russian investment & technology collaboration, which was agreed by the Russian side," the company said in a BSE filing.

NALCO stated that according to industry experts this will bring in Russian high-end technology in downstream units of the park, which will help the park achieve global standards.

"Apart from this, there are areas like collaboration for strategic minerals like cobalt, lithium etc, which has also been agreed upon," it said.

Following this, it said, top global companies like UC Rusal, Ms. KJTS, Ms. UHM etc will be visiting Odisha.
