Annual Command Meeting of Southern Naval Command held

The Annual Command Meeting of Southern Naval Command for 2017,where stock taking of issues concerning units of the respective commands is carried out for analysis and course correction,if any, was held at the Naval Base here.
The meeting, held yesterday, was chaired by Vice Admiral A R Karve, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief, Southern Naval Command and attended by Senior Officers, Commanding Officers, Officers-in-Charge and Directors of ships, establishments, training schools and Units of SNC.
Various issues concerning operations, administration, and maintenance were discussed during the meeting, a Defence press release said today.
The Admiral also presented awards for outstanding achievements to meritorious establishments.

INS Valsura was presented with 'Dakshin Nausena Kaman Raja Bhasha Rolling Trophy' for best implementation of official language (Hindi) in day to day working, with INS Chilka receiving the Runners Up trophy.
The FOC-in-C (South) Rolling Trophy for Best Green Practices' was awarded to Naval Aircraft Yard (NAY), Kochi under 'Industrial Unit' category and to INS Shivaji under 'Non-Industrial Unit' category.
