In a message Ansari said he prayed to the Almighty to give the bereaved families of the victims the strength and fortitude to withstand this immense loss.
"It is with profound grief that I have learnt of the loss of lives caused by the boat tragedy in Bihar. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I'm informed that the central and state government agencies have been carrying out relief and rescue work," he added.
"I'm pained to learn that a boat carrying several persons capsized in river Ganga in Patna. It is tragic news that more than 20 passengers have lost their lives. I convey condolences to the bereaved members of their families," she said in a message.
