Police said today that thieves broke into the Buragohain Than Sattra at Paharpur village near Assam-Meghalaya border last night and took away jewellery and other items dating back to the days of the medieval Ahom Kingdom.
The stolen artefacts are valued at several lakhs of rupees though the exact value was yet to be ascertained.
