Guneet Monga, the producer behind films like 'Gangs of Wasseypur', 'Peddlers' and 'The Lunchbox', credits filmmaker Anurag Kashyap for showing her the way in the industry and calls her journey of being in Bollywood a "happy" one.
The 29-year-old is the co-founder of Sikhya Entertainment, a film production company, and also CEO at Anurag Kashyap Films.
She was recently called the "most prolific producers of a new wave of cinema" by The Hollywood Reporter and was also placed amongst "12 international players to watch" in the list compiled by the website.
Guneet, who studied in Delhi but later moved to Mumbai to be into films and worked with Balaji, lost both her parents in 2008 but believes she has found a father figure in Kashyap.
She met Kashyap while line producing 'Once Upon A Time in Mumbai'.
"We just discussed few things and immediately started working together and since then there has been no looking back. He has sort of taken that position of a father figure or mentor. I feel secure in doing mistakes because there is someone there.
"So that sense of home is not there but security is. It wouldn't have been possible without Anurag. He showed me the way," Guneet told PTI on the sidelines of Dharamshala International Film Festival.
She was 24 when she started working with Kashyap and after all these years of non-stop work, Guneet admits feeling a little tired but has no plans of taking a break anytime soon.
"It has been a journey where of course I have done a lot so now I feel like there needs to be time taken for myself. I never used to realise, and people would tell me 'you will burn out but I didn't understand that.
"Now I am realising there is something like burning out. But no plans of vacation yet because I have some of my films to release. May be after that," she said.
