The accused, Bhumireddy Jagadishwar Reddy, currently working on deputation as chief engineer of AP Education Welfare and Infrastructure Development Corporation, has been arrested, ACB Director General R P Thakur said in a press release.
The officer hails from Mahbubnagar district of Telangana.
The Central Investigation Unit of ACB discovered huge fixed and movable assets in Jagadishwar and his kin's name. Some benami (proxy) properties were unearthed in Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar and other places, he said.
In all, raids were conducted on the properties in Hyderabad, Chennai and other six places, while four bank lockers were yet to be opened, the official said.
Investigation into the case is continuing and more assets are expected to be discovered once the bank lockers are opened, the release added.
