Under this initiative, a sum of Rs 10 lakh each would be paid as insurance to the kin of those NRTs killed abroad and also to those who suffer permanent disability.
To take care of the NRTs who lose employment abroad, a special fund of Rs one crore would be earmarked.
These decisions were announced at a meeting of the AP NRT Society chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu here today.
The state government would also set up a special helpline to address the grievances of NRTs, a release from the CMO (Chief Minister's Officer) said.
He directed them to study the Haryana model where a special investment zone and a special cell have been created, it said.
Naidu wanted temples of Lord Venkateswara built in foreign countries to promote Telugu culture.
"The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams will build the temples wherever NRTs donated land," he said.
NRT affairs advisor V Ravi Kumar and other officials attended the meeting.
