AP govt to seek aid from World Bank for post-flood project

Andhra Pradesh government is proposing to seek financial aid of around Rs 1,000 crore from the World Bank for implementation of the 'Post-Flood Project', state Minister for Revenue N Raghuveera Reddy said today.
The aid would be used to undertake repair and development of roads in the state destroyed due to natural calamities.
"The proposal (for World Bank assisted aid) will be approved in the next Cabinet meeting and will be sent to the World Bank. The 'Post-Flood Project' proposes to develop roads in 22 districts (except Hyderabad) of the state," Reddy told reporters here.
The Panchayat Raj department will be allocated Rs 470 crore while the Roads and Buildings department will be given Rs 532 crore, he added.
