"We met Governor and explained the developments in the last few days. In the last one year since the state bifurcation, though Hyderabad is common capital, they are treating the Andhra Pradesh government here as a subordinate government, without letting us feel that this is a common capital," Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao told reporters.
He was speaking tonight after a meeting with Narasimhan, who is common Governor for both states.
The ministers told the Governor that the responsibility and powers concerning the safety, security, liberty of citizens, vital installations and important buildings lay with him as per Section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, he said.
"The Governor can consult the Telangana council of ministers, but the final powers again lay with him (as per the AP Reorganisation Act). He has also been given advisors. The advisors have to look after these issues. But these are not implemented," he said.
The Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments and the ruling parties in the two states, TDP and TRS respectively, have been engaged in a bitter war of words over the alleged cash-for-vote controversy, alleged phone-tapping and construction of irrigation projects in the last couple of weeks.
