AP: Over 12 lakh travel home by APSRTC buses for Sankranti

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has transported over 12 lakh passengers in the last three-four days during this Sankranti festival season, it said today.
APSRTC said in a release that 9,251 extra buses had been pressed into service so far to clear the extra rush of passengers going to their native places to celebrate the three-day Sankranti festival beginning today.
It said 526 additional buses would ply today and 249 more tomorrow. "Seats available in RTC buses today were 24,017 and for tomorrow 41,344. There are 22 boarding points in Hyderabad. 12,83, 256 passengers have travelled so far.
