Approach TN to ensure six tmc Cauvery water for Karaikal': CPI

Communist Party of India (CPI)'s Puducherry unit has called upon the Chief Minister, N Rangasamy to approach the Tamil Nadu government immediately to ensure availability of six tmc feet water in the Cauvery river system for Karaikal.
Secretary of the party, R Viswanathan said in a release today, the party unit at its meeting today adopted a resolution that with the delta districts in Tamil Nadu have been getting copious water while Karaikal at the tail end, was facing water crisis although it is entitled to get six tmc water as per the verdict of the Supreme court.
The party through another resolution expressed concern over the sharp decline in the allocation of funds by the Centre to Puducherry.
