Armed gang relieves couple of 15 sovereigns gold,Rs 10000 cash

: A four member armed gang assaulted and injured a couple at their residence at nearby M.Chattirapati and decamped with 15 sovereigns of gold, Rs 10,000 in cash and two mobile phones today, police said.
They gained entry into the house by removing the grill gates with cutting equipment. The couple woke up on hearing the noise and were assaulted by the gang.
They took away the woman's thali, locked them up in different rooms, broke open the almirah, snatched the jewellery, cash and mobile phones and escaped, they said.
The seriously injured man has been hospitalised.
Police said a team has been constituted to nab the gang.
