Arms stolen from police armouries in Nagaland between '98-'12

Replying to a question raised by CLP leader Tokheho Yepthomi during question hour, the chief minister said criminal cases were registered with the police arresting the culprits and recovering some arms and ammunition.

Expressing serious concern over the theft of arms from police armouries, the chief minister said, "We cannot allow uniformed staff to rob arms and ammunition. It has brought shame to the uniformed services."

Rio said that the senior police officers should visit police battalions and companies to ascertain whether they were functioning within rules or not.

On the opening day of the short duration session the government tabled a few bills pertaining to private university, professional tax (amendment) and enhancement of salaries and allowances of ministers and members of the House.
