"On request of the district administration, a team from Army comprising engineers was pressed into service to pull the boy out," Defence spokesperson S D Goswami said.
The boy, Chotu, had fallen in the borewell on Wednesday while playing near it at Khyarada village of the district.
Goswami added that the team from South Western Command is equipped with engineering equipments and will expedite rescue work.
"A camera was lowered into the borewell yesterday and footage shows no movement of the boy. We fear he is dead by now. We have employed four JCB machines and earthmovers for digging land adjacent to the borewell," SHO (Hindaun) Anoop Singh said here today.
